Nonparametric and Dual Likelihood in Survival Analysis by
نویسنده
چکیده
Recent results have shown that one can often construct dual likelihoods to analyze nonparametric likelihood ratio statistics. We will investigate a number of important statistics in survival analysis from this perspective. Findings include results on Bartlett correctibility and ancil-larity. In part of the discussion, we use a discrete time calculus for survival analysis, which we believe can be useful also in other contexts.

Empirical Likelihood Approach and its Application on Survival Analysis
A number of nonparametric methods exist when studying the population and its parameters in the situation when the distribution is unknown. Some of them such as "resampling bootstrap method" are based on resampling from an initial sample. In this article empirical likelihood approach is introduced as a nonparametric method for more efficient use of auxiliary information to construct...
متن کاملEmpirical Likelihood in Survival Analysis
Since the pioneering work of Thomas and Grunkemeier (1975) and Owen (1988), the empirical likelihood has been developed as a powerful nonparametric inference approach and become popular in statistical literature. There are many applications of empirical likelihood in survival analysis. In this paper, we present an overview of some recent developments of the empirical likelihood for survival dat...
متن کاملInconsistency of the MLE for the joint distribution of interval censored survival times
This article considers the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for the joint distribution function of an interval censored survival time and a continuous mark variable. We derive a new explicit formula for the MLE that has both computational and theoretical advantages. Using this formula and the mark specific cumulative hazard function of Huang & Louis (1998), we derive the almost ...

متن کاملThe effect of dual task training on sit to stand postural control of elderly women with a history of falling
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of dual task training including balance sit-to-stand and cognitive exercises on postural control of sit to stand of elderly women with a history of falling. 15 elderly women were randomly divided into control (n=7) and experimental (n=8) groups. Participants implemented training protocol for four weeks in both experimental (balance ...
